Listn Music — Labels & Roster Guide

Two short guides you can send out — one for label owners, one for the artists they invite. Copy either one into an email, a help doc, or a PDF.

FOR LABELS — How to set up your label on Listn

Now on Listn Music, any artist account can run their own label — with a logo, a banner, and a public label page — and invite other artists to join their roster.

Step 1. Create your label

1. Sign into your artist account on listnmusic.com
2. In the studio menu, click My label
3. Click Create a label
4. Fill in the form:
   • Name — your label's name (e.g. "Bite Hard Records")
   • Short description — one-line tagline
   • Bio — 3-4 sentences about what you put out
   • Logo — upload a square image (recommended)
   • Banner — upload a wide image, roughly 1600×500 (recommended)
5. Click Create label

Your label is now live at listnmusic.com/labels/your-label-name and will appear on the public Labels page.

You can edit any of this later — click Edit label from your label dashboard.

Step 2. Invite artists to your roster

1. From the studio menu, click Roster
2. Enter the artist's email address (the one they use to sign into Listn)
3. Add an optional message they'll see with the invitation
4. Click Send invite

The artist will see the invitation in their studio right away. You'll see them under "Pending invitations" until they accept. Once they accept, they move to "Active roster".

A few things to know:

• Artists need an existing Listn account to be invited. If your artist doesn't have one, ask them to sign up at listnmusic.com first
• Artists can only be signed to one label at a time on Listn. If someone's already on another roster, they'll need to leave that label first
• You can revoke a pending invitation or remove an active roster artist at any time

Step 3. Upload tracks on your artists' behalf

Once an artist is on your roster:

1. Go to Studio → Upload
2. At the top of the upload form, you'll see a new Upload as dropdown
3. Select the roster artist you're uploading for
4. Fill in the rest of the track details as normal
5. Submit

The track will be released under that artist's name on your label. You stay recorded as the person who submitted it (for audit purposes).

FOR ARTISTS — How to join a label on Listn

A label on Listn has invited you to their roster. Once you accept, that label can upload tracks on your behalf, and their name will appear alongside yours on those tracks.

Step 1. Review the invitation

1. Sign into your artist account on listnmusic.com
2. You'll see a badge on Invitations in the studio menu — click it
3. You'll see the label's name, logo, who invited you, and any message they added

Step 2. Accept or decline

• Click Accept to join the roster
• Click Decline if you're not interested

That's it. Once accepted, the label can upload tracks on your behalf. Your existing tracks and profile are unchanged — the label only affects new uploads they submit for you.

Step 3. If things change

• You can leave a roster at any time — go to Studio → Invitations and click Leave roster on your current label card
• After you leave, any tracks the label already released stay attributed to you (they're your work), but new uploads default back to just your name until you join another roster

A few things to know:

• You can only be on one label roster at a time on Listn. To join a new one, leave your current label first
• The label can't edit your profile, upload avatar, or change your existing tracks — they can only submit new tracks under your name on their label
• Every track shows both your name and the label name on its page

Common questions

As a label, can I upload without inviting the artist first? No. The artist has to be on your accepted roster before you can upload on their behalf. This protects them from having tracks released in their name without permission.

As an artist, do I lose any control by joining a label? No — you keep your artist page, your existing tracks, and your account. The label only gets the ability to submit new tracks under your name.

Can an artist be on multiple labels? Not at the same time. This keeps track attribution and royalty routing simple. If you want to move labels, leave the current one first.

How do I remove a track that a label uploaded for me? Contact the label first — they submitted it, so they can withdraw it. If that doesn't work, contact Listn support.

Do I get an email when someone invites me / accepts my invitation? Not yet — invitations appear in your studio with a badge on the menu. Email notifications are coming soon.
